Most notably, the Sports Futura Sedan was introduced in February, 1962. The Sports Futura had bucket seats with a center console. It had a Thunderbird style roof that was also used on the later 63 Falcons.

Factory air conditioning was offered for the first time on Falcons in 1962. Dealer installed AC units used for the first two years were still available.

The special Squire trim was offered for the first time on the four door wagons. This new version of the wagon was a popular item.

For the first time, a four speed manual transmission was offered in the cooking new Sports Futura. The floor mounted all-synchro gearbox was referred to as the Dagenham. It was named after the city in England where it was manufactured.

The above production information has been obtained from various sources and cross-checked when possible. Although it is thought to be reliable, a person considering a Falcon based on its rarity should conduct his or her own research.
